The characteristics of polyester staple fiber are introduced.

There are many types of polyester short fiber fabric, in addition to the textile manufacturing of pure polyester knitted goods, there are many mixed textile or cross-textile products with various textile fibers, which improve the defects of pure polyester fabric and reflect the better wearing characteristics of polyester short fiber.

Characteristics of polyester staple fiber:

1. High strength: the strength of polyester staple fiber is nearly 1 times higher than cotton and 3 times higher than wool. Due to its low hygroscopic properties, its wet strength is basically the same as its dry strength. The impact strength is 4 times higher than polyamide and 20 times higher than viscose fiber.

2. Good elasticity: the elasticity is close to wool, and when it is extended by 5% to 6%, it can almost be completely restored. Polyester fabric has high strength and elastic resilience, so the fabric does not wrinkle, dimensional stability is good, fast and durable.

3. Good heat resistance: polyester is a thermoplastic fiber, the melting point is relatively high, can be used at 70~170℃, and the specific heat capacity and thermal conductivity are small, so the heat resistance and insulation of polyester staple fiber is the best synthetic short fiber.

4. Good thermoplasticity, poor melting resistance: due to the smooth surface of polyester, the internal molecular arrangement is tight, so polyester is the best heat resistance in synthetic fiber fabric. At the same time, the melt resistance is poor, and the polyester fabric is easy to form holes when it meets soot and Mars.

5. Good wear resistance: the wear resistance of polyester staple fiber ranks second in synthetic fiber, second only to the best wear resistance of nylon.

6. Corrosion resistance: resistant to bleaching agents, oxidants, hydrocarbons, ketones, petroleum products and inorganic acids, as well as strong acid and alkali resistance, anti-ultraviolet ability.

7. Poor dyeing, but good color fastness, not easy to fade: Because there is no specific dyeing group on the polyester molecular chain, and the polarity is small, it is more difficult to dye, and the dye molecules are not easy to enter the fiber.

8. Poor moisture absorption and permeability: polyester fabric is stuffy, easy to carry static electricity, dirt, affecting beauty and comfort, but easy to wash and dry, no deformation.
